The Jacksonville Business Journal will be the presenting sponsor of this year's Jacksonville Venture Competition — a move that presages changes to the entrepreneurship event in coming years.

The 2024 JVC, presented by the Jacksonville Business Journal, will take place March 12-13 and include presentations by entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and others.

Following the 2024 event, the JVC will move to become one of the signature events presented by the Business Journal, joining the likes of 40 Under 40, Women of Influence and Fast 50: Jacksonville's Fastest-Growing Companies. The move builds on the JBJ's increased coverage of Jacksonville's entrepreneurial community, including the growth of its First Coast Inno vertical.

"For almost 40 years, the Jacksonville Business Journal has helped keep the community informed about the successes and challenges facing local businesses," JBJ Publisher and Market President Sara Pomposo said. "We're excited about the opportunity to help connect and celebrate the investors, startups and entrepreneurs who will shape the First Coast's future."

JVC’s inaugural event took place in 2023 with the goal of building a world-class startup ecosystem in Jacksonville, the founders said.

The partnership with the JBJ builds upon the success of that event.

"We're thrilled about this partnership with the Jacksonville Business Journal for JVC 2024," JVC founder Matthew Chang said. "It signifies a new era of collaboration, propelling Jacksonville towards becoming a hub for innovation and economic growth."
