Thanks in part to its low cost of living, Jacksonville landed on a top 10 list of the best U.S. cities for remote work.

That's according to a new study released by Teamwork, which sells project management software.

While U.S. employees are being asked back into the office, many are reconsidering their current job and seeking alternative options, which is visible in the fact that searches for remote work have increased by more than 4,400% in the past five years, according to Teamwork.

Jacksonville placed seventh on Teamwork’s leaderboard according to its overall cost of living score and an average local monthly salary of $4,580. Jacksonville also ranked in sixth place for the lowest gym membership costs at $26.7 per month.

Teamwork looked at the cities with the lowest rent, best-paying wages and even the cost of a beer or three-course meal for two to find the best and most affordable cities to consider moving to for those working remotely.

Cheyenne, Wyoming is top of Teamwork’s leaderboard with the lowest cost of living score and an average monthly salary of $5,166 locally.
