After a back-and-forth final matchup, the 2021 Colorado Inno Tech Madness champion has been crowned.

Denver's Pie Insurance completed its dominant run through the bracket, knocking off StackHawk by a margin of about 100 votes in the championship.

Coming in as a No. 2 seed, Pie wracked up the most votes in every round of the competition. In total, Tech Madness garnered 6,000 votes this year.

The Tech Madness title comes at an exciting time for Pie, as the insurance startup recently raised $118 million in fresh funding, bringing its total to more than $300 million raised since its 2017 founding.

This challenge is designed to generate awareness and excitement for the state’s innovation ecosystem and the companies that make it special, all through a little friendly competition. Voting for each match was open to the community, with readers answering just one question – who would you invest in?

By taking home the title, Pie joins past champions HeartHero and Proximity in the record book.

We want to give a huge shoutout to all 32 companies that took part in the competition this year and to the community for voting.
