Player Personnel: Colorado's top tech and startup hires in May

While Covid-19 changed personnel plans for many, the state’s top technology companies and startups continue to hire during the pandemic.

We track the major player personnel moves in our daily newsletter, the Beat. Below, we’ve listed the top Colorado technology and startup hires reported in May.

Boulder-based Ocelot, a SaaS platform for higher education, announced that the company has hired Talin Andonians as its chief executive officer. Andonians was most recently the chief people officer at Cupertino Electric, overseeing organizational development, HR, marketing and communications at the electrical engineering and construction giant.

Denver's SpiralMethod, a company that coaches leaders to more effectively lead their organizations and teams, announced the appointment of Greg Greenwood as the company's chief executive officer and co-founder. Greenwood most recently served as CEO of Blackstone Entrepreneur Network in Colorado, where he worked with former entrepreneurs to help other CEOs with their growth and organizational challenges.

Denver's Palantir Technologies announced the hiring of Dr. William J. Kassler as its first U.S. Government chief medical officer. Kassler joins Palantir from IBM Watson Health and has worked throughout his career at the intersection of clinical care and population health. He will lead Palantir's Public Health and Life Sciences teams.

Boulder's Bond Pet Foods, a startup using biotechnology to make animal-free and protein-rich pet food, has recruited biotechnology experts Dr. Tony Day and Dr. Mike Arbige to join the company. Day joins the Bond team as chief technology officer and Arbige will take a position on the company's scientific advisory board. In August, Bond announced that it had created an animal-free, cultured chicken meat protein for pet food.

Denver-based healthtech unicorn DispatchHealth has announced several additions to its executive leadership team. The hires include Daniel Graf as chief product officer, Dean Dalili as president of market operations and Erin Denholm as president of clinical operation. These moves come on the heels of DispatchHealth’s March announcement of its $200 million Series D fundraise, which brought its valuation to $1.7 billion.

Following a $130 million investment in Colorado auto battery maker Solid Power, Ford and BMW representatives have joined the company's board of directors. Ford's Ted Miller and BMW's Rainer Feurer have joined Solid Power's board following the Series B investment round.

Cybersecurity company Coalfire has established a new executive leadership position with the appointment of Vineet Seth as chief product officer. Prior to joining the Denver-based company, Seth most recently as vice president of product for BitSight, a cyber ratings company.

Broomfield-based Gorilla Logic, a software development and consulting services company, announced that David Amott has joined the company as VP of global talent acquisition. Amott joins the company during a time of growth and will lead the company’s talent acquisition strategy and operations. In 2020, Gorilla Logic was named to the Inc. 5000 list for the seventh consecutive year, taking its place among the nation’s fastest-growing private companies.

Boulder-based TeamSnap, an amateur sports management and communication software company, announced the hiring of two new leadership team members. The company brought on Brian Caulfield as COO and Nicole McCormack as GM of advertising and commerce. These hires come after TeamSnap's recent strategic partnership with Waud Capital, which brought new money to TeamSnap and gave Waud majority ownership.

Denver's Faction, a multi-cloud data services provider, announced two hires to its executive team. Anthony Faustini joined Faction as chief revenue officer and Rama Kolappan joined as chief product officer.
