Player Personnel: The Top Colorado Tech and Startup Hires from September

As Colorado’s tech ecosystem continues to grow, the state’s top technology companies and startups are hiring more frequently.

We track the major player personnel moves in our daily newsletter, the Beat.

Below, we’ve listed the top Colorado technology and startup hires reported in September.

Denver's HomeSphere, a construction tech company, announced a management shakeup that will make Greg Schwarzer, formerly the company's CRO, its president and COO. Glenn Renner, who previously held the title of president and CEO, will retain both his CEO and board positions. This move comes as HomeSphere transitions from a tech-enabled services company to a business-to-business software platform. More here.

Colorado Springs-based R9B, a provider of cybersecurity products, services and training, announced two new additions to its executive sales team. Scott Lindquist will serve as VP of North American enterprise sales and Paul DiBello will take over as senior VP of global business development. More on the hires here.

SomaLogic, a Boulder-based protein biomarker discovery company, announced this week that it has hired Patrick Terry as its first chief commercial officer. Prior to joining the company, Terry founded or cofounded numerous innovative commercial organizations in the life sciences, applied technology and network theory, including Genomic Health, a personalized medicine company based in California that was recently acquired by Exact Sciences. Colorado Springs-based food waste startup FoodMaven announced that Ben Deda has been named CEO, as Patrick Bultema moves to chairman of the board. Prior to joining FoodMaven, Deda held senior and executive leadership roles at Vertafore, Galvanize, FullContact and TruStile in operations, sales, marketing and support. Aurora's Cerebral Therapeutics, a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company developing specialty medications for uncontrolled neurological diseases, announced the appointment of industry veteran John Foster as president and COO. Prior to joining Cerebral, Foster was the founder and CEO of CNS Therapeutics, which was later sold to Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. More on the hire here.

Boston-based Yasso announced that it would be taking its frozen yogurt operation to Boulder and announced a new CEO. The company, founded in 2009, offers 18 flavors of frozen greek yogurt bars and is approaching $100 million in revenue in 2019. With more growth on the horizon, the company chose Boulder to put down roots, citing the local talent pool and history with food and beverage brands. In addition to the HQ move, Yasso co-CEOs, Drew Harrington and Amanda Klane, will be handing over the role to Craig Shiesley as they transition to spots on the company's board. Golden's Ascent360, a customer database platform provider for mid-market businesses, announced that Jason Root has been hired as the company's new senior VP of client success. Root, a professional services veteran, was brought on to help Ascent360 clients realize value and combat learning curves common during the adoption of new marketing technologies.
