About two years after it moved its operations from Spain to Colorado, Boulder-based decentralized video delivery technology startup Teltoo has been acquired.

Haivision, a video streaming solutions company, announced the acquisition of Teltoo this week, in a move that combines the two video-focused companies.

The acquisition cements Haivision’s work in cloud-connected live video from contribution and distribution, now through to delivery. It also enables Haivision to apply its machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities against real-time network analytics to optimize complete edge-to-edge low latency video workflows.

Teltoo’s technology optimizes video delivery for operators, media companies and enterprises. Haivision will be integrating the Teltoo technology across its products to deliver the highest quality viewer experience to audiences around the world.

Teltoo has deep knowledge of applying this technology with unique insights into optimizing network topologies. Combined with our multi-CDN and artificial intelligence expertise, Haivision is once again set to disrupt the video streaming industry,” Mirko Wicha, President and CEO of Haivision, said in a statement. Terms of the deal were not provided.

In March 2019, Teltoo founder Pablo Hesse wrote a guest post on Colorado Inno chronicling the company's move from Madrid to Boulder.

"The move was bold – the best business moves usually are – and afforded my growing startup increased visibility, interest and funding, plus a new standing in an optimal market for our technology," he wrote at the time.

The company graduated from UpRamp's Fiterator program in 2017, which was part of the reason it landed in Colorado.

With this acquisition, Hesse said Teltoo will be able to more quickly advance its mission.

"By pioneering the SRT protocol and the SRT open source initiative, Haivision has already proved itself to be a leader in our industry," Hesse said in a statement. "Together with Haivision, we are well positioned to achieve our vision of setting the new standard for video streaming delivery."
