Cleaning your home or apartment floor is no fun, but, unfortunately, there's no way around it.
You're likely to rummage through the closet to find the mop and broom, interchanging each cleaning tool depending on the mess. Bust out the broom for the dog hair, but clean up a spill with the mop.
One Fort Collins-based startup wants to eliminate the need for multiple cleaning tools, combining a broom, mop and dustpan into one.
Viviana Herrera launched the Duet, an all-in-one floor cleaning system, on Kickstarter this week in an effort to save people time and space when it comes to cleaning.
The Duet contains a microfiber dust mop, a sweeping broom and a dustpan that features a bristle cleaner, hands-free microfiber pad cleaner and removable collection tray.
So far, the product has raised nearly $17,000 of its $20,000 Kickstarter goal from 400 backers with 29 days to go. The product retails for $29.
"The problem with sweeping and picking up the collected debris is that you can't do both at once with the same product, taking up significant time in someone's busy schedule," Herrera said in a statement.

The Duet can be used on hardwood, laminate, porcelain, ceramic tile, linoleum and other types of hard flooring and the dust mop pads are machine washable. It stands up on its own and can be stored in a closet or hung on the wall.
"It's time for a shakeup in the way people clean their homes' floors, and we're excited to introduce the Duet to users everywhere to make their lives easier. It's your broom and dustpan reinvented," Herrera said.
