The day is finally here and Boulder's Boomtown Accelerators has announced the 11 companies in its fall 2018 cohort.
Companies range from beehive monitoring devices and edible crickets, to medical decision support tools and a voice-control health and wellness assistant.
By being accepted into Boomtown, founders receive $20,000 in seed funding, nearly $2 million in discounts and perks, office space, mentors, and more, while also competing in the accelerator's Demo Day pitch.
Boomtown takes 6 percent equity in exchange for the $20,000 seed funding and membership into the accelerator.
The 12-week program concludes tonight with Demo Day, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Boulder Theater. Companies will pitch their businesses to investors, strategic partners and community supporters in Boomtown's signature event.
The cohort is 23 percent female and 42 percent minority founders, with founders hailing from Chile, Canada, Puerto Rico, the United Kingdom and the United States.
