A new company is coming to Colorado.

Alexandria, Virginia-based Invictus International Consulting, a cybersecurity firm, announced on Thursday, Feb. 29, that it is expanding to Colorado Springs.

The company said in a release it expects to employ 65 to 130 people over the next five to 10 years, with an average salary of approximately $166,000 per year.

Gov. Jared Polis said Invictus will add "130 new good-paying jobs" to Colorado Springs while also "advancing the aerospace and defense industry."

These jobs will range from engineering and technicians to managers, analysts and administrators.

Invictus will receive up to $2 million in job growth incentives from the Colorado Economic Development Commission if the company meets net new job creation and salary requirements. When the commission approved this incentive, called "Project Stronghold," in April 2023, the company was required to create 130 jobs at an average annual wage of $184,990, according to previous Denver Business Journal reporting. At the time, the unnamed business considered expanding in Broomfield County.

Invictus will also receive a $370,493 incentive package from Colorado Springs and El Paso County.

"We are excited to establish a presence in Colorado Springs, a city deeply rooted in military heritage and innovation," Jim Kelly, CEO of Invictus, said in a statement. "This strategic move allows us to collaborate more closely with our military partners, leverage the talent pool in the region and continue delivering exceptional solutions to our clients."

Before selecting Colorado for its expansion, Invictus considered San Antonio, Texas, and Reston, Virginia.

Veteran-owned Invictus was founded in 2014. Today, the company is a full-spectrum cybersecurity and technology integrator that supports national security systems, including global defense and critical infrastructure entities. Invictus has worked with the Federal Aviation Administration and the U.S. combatant commands, according to its website.

As of November 2023, Invictus was the 11th largest veteran-owned company in the greater Washington, D.C., area with 125 employees in the Washington, D.C., area, according to Washington Business Journal research. Invictus currently has 300 total employees, with 65 in Colorado, according to a release.
