As it continues its mission to revolutionize the speed of air travel, Centennial's Boom Supersonic is giving supporters and fans a behind-the-scenes look at one of its planes.
The company debuted Meet XB-1 this week, giving people a detailed look at the company's progress in building its supersonic demonstrator.
Meet XB-1 is an immersive digital experience that invites users to interact with every inch of the aircraft, from tip to tail. They can explore elements of supersonic design, see photos of assembly progress and learn the complete story of the company's road to flight.

The XB-1 is a one-third size replica of Boom’s signature aircraft, the Overture. The company is using the aircraft as a proving ground for its supersonic technology. Whereas the average commercial jet cruises at 460 – 575 mph, supersonic aircraft travel faster than the speed of sound, which is about 768 mph.
With this speed, Boom anticipates going from New York to London in only three hours and 15 minutes instead of seven hours or Tokyo to San Francisco in half the time of the standard 11-hour flight.
The new immersive feature will allow people to see updated photos of the hangar, receive status updates on the build and take a 3D interactive tour with each of the plane's elements.
Want to know how close Boom is to 100% completion of the cockpit? Meet XB-1 will tell you, while also providing more details on what has gone into the build.
The transparency comes as the company inches closer to supersonic flight.
Boom has already landed partnerships with Virgin Group and Japan Airlines, which have pre-ordered a combined 30 Overture airliners. To date, the company has raised about $150 million, including a $100 million Series B round announced in early 2019.
