Techstars revealed the 14th class in its Boulder-based accelerator this week, featuring startups from across the state and the world.

The 10-company class includes startups from Colorado, Oregon, Montana, Illinois, Utah, California and Mexico.

"As is always our mindset, we will blend the proven foundation we've pioneered for company acceleration with new experiments in how companies can achieve their dreams, sooner," Techstars Boulder Director Natty Zola said in a blog post. "We focus on helping companies deeply understand their customer and their problem, develop an internal cadence that fosters progress over motion, use metrics to drive decision making, and tap into the Techstars worldwide network to open doors and scale rapidly."

Since launching in 2007, Techstars Boulder has had 142 companies graduate that have gone on to raise over $1.2 billion.

As part of the 90-day accelerator, each company is offered a $100,000 convertible note. Techstars contributes $20,000, which is commonly used as a stipend to support living expenses during the program, and in return receives 6 percent common stock from each company.

However, in 2014, Techstars introduced an “equity back guarantee,” allowing graduate companies to lower or eliminate the accelerator’s equity position if the startup is unhappy with the value it received.
