8 Colorado Companies to Watch at CES 2019

If you're looking for the next big trends in tech, it's hard to ignore the goings-on at CES.

From January 8 through 11, more than 4,000 companies and 180,000 attendees will gather in Las Vegas to showcase and test the latest trends in consumer electronics, from autonomous vehicles to 5G.

Colorado will be well-represented at the event, with companies in robotics, IoT, supply-chain and others on display. If you're making the trip to Vegas, make sure you check out these homegrown companies.

Here are eight Colorado companies to watch at CES 2019.

Bext360

Denver's Bext360 has developed supply-chain technology that utilizes blockchain to enhance sustainable practices for products like coffee, seafood, timber, minerals and others. The company has been featured in numerous national publications for its supply-chain tech and raised a $3.4 million funding round in June.

Epilog Laser

Epilog Laser just wrapped up its 30th year in business, operating its laser engraving business out of Golden. Over the company's history, the laser engraving technology has been used in a variety of markets, from guitar customization to cabinetry design to medical device marking.

Glow Labs

Dubbed an 'IoT Design House,' Commerce City's Glow Labs will take IoT projects from an idea to a complete product. Outside of product development, they also provide consulting, prototyping and manufacturing for IoT project.

Nite Ize

If you're looking for a new gadget or phone accessory, Boulder's Night Ize probably has something for you. The company's product line is wide, ranging from car and bike phone mounts, to LED dog leashes and balls.

Occipital

Born from Techstars Boulder in 2008, Occipital has gone on a meteoric rise with its computer vision technology, raising $71 million in the process. In November, Occipital announced a new project, robotic vision technology called the Structure Core.

PopSockets

The Boulder-based maker of expandable phone grips offers a huge variety of grips, mounts, and wallets. Looking for a Broncos grip, they have it. How about a corgi grip? Check. PopSockets also allows users to create a custom grip by uploading an image.

Proov

Proov tests are rapid response urine progesterone test strips that empower women to know more about their menstrual cycles and progesterone levels. The tests take five minutes, are easy to read and can be done in the privacy of your home.

Sphero

The Boulder-based robotic company makes computer science fun for students of all ages with a robot ball. The company has released a newer version called the Sphero BOLT which incorporates an app and curriculum to teach coding, engineering and other sciences.
