Colorado's tech scene is rapidly growing, and the growth is not limited to just Denver and Boulder.
According to a new study released today by CompTIA, the trade association for the IT industry, three Colorado cities were named top 20 tech towns in the U.S.
Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs each garnered top 20 recognition in the report that ranked cities based upon quality of life for tech workers, salaries, job availability, job growth and cost of living.
Denver topped the list for Colorado cities, checking in at number 8, with Boulder at 19, and Colorado Spring close behind at 20.
The rankings were based off of job posting data collected between August 2017 and July 2018 from metro areas with at least 250,000 people.
The report noted that Denver had 50,897 IT job postings during the study's range, with a median IT salary at $90,958.
Boulder was lauded for the quality of its workforce, boasting one of the most educated workforces in the country, with more PhDs per capita than any other city in the U.S.
In Colorado Springs, there was more than 8,000 technology jobs posted in the last year, with an estimated growth of 5 percent over the next 5 years. The city was praised for matching competitive salaries with other Colorado cities, while offering a lower cost of living.
