Fast-growing vehicle rental company Fluid Truck raised $17.8 million on Thursday, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

This latest funding comes two years after Fluid Truck raised a $63 million Series A to scale nationally and internationally.

According to the SEC filing, the equity funding comes from 35 investors.

The company declined to comment on this latest raise.

Fluid Truck launched as a community resource-sharing app in 2016. Three years later, the Denver-based company pivoted to focus solely on renting trucks. Today, Fluid Truck allows individuals and businesses in more than 30 cities to rent cargo vans, box trucks and pickup trucks at any time.

The company’s software also helps businesses manage fleets without actually owning the vehicles.

“It’s been pretty transformational for small and mid-sized businesses to focus on what’s important,” Fluid Truck founder and CEO James Eberhard said after the company raised its Series A in 2021. “They do not have to worry about buying, managing and servicing a fleet. They can use the vehicle when they need it and get the job done for them and their customers.”

Fluid Truck has made a name for itself in Denver as last year’s fastest-growing large private company in the area, according to DBJ data. Its co-founder and chief legal officer Jennifer Snyder was also named as one of Denver’s most outstanding women in business by the DBJ last month.

In addition to these acclimates, Fluid Truck had made significant investments in its team over the years, committing to hire nearly 1,500 people in Colorado by 2029. Other notable moves include partnerships with IKEA to power its electric vehicle delivery fleets in New York City and Los Angeles and Lyft to provide electric trucks for its scooter and e-bike collection.
