Fluid Truck is the winner of the 2022 Colorado Inno award in the green tech category.
Fluid Truck’s peer-to-peer truck-sharing platform gives individuals and businesses access to the larger vehicles they need to get the job done, whether that job is moving to a new home or delivering products to customers.
In 2021, Fluid Truck founder and CEO James Eberhard told the Denver Business Journal that other states offered the company incentives to relocate. However, the Colorado Economic Development Commission put forward its own incentive: More than $16 million to keep the company in-state.
The result was a decision to continue Fluid Truck’s growth in Colorado and an announcement that the business would add 1,483 jobs at its Denver headquarters during the following eight years.
Earlier this year, the company’s growth earned it a spot on Inc. Magazine’s list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private ventures in the United States, placing No. 101.

Tell us about a strategy your company has used to grow despite the challenges of the past few years: While there have been challenges to the supply chain for vehicles and external factors we can’t control, we’ve chosen to prioritize what’s within our reach to excel at — our technology. Our app makes truck rental as frictionless as possible with 24/7 access and no need to ever walk into a rental office, and we’re always taking user feedback to determine how we can better serve our customers. By constantly evolving our platform to best meet their needs, we’ve been able to consistently grow and now see repeat business as a core part of our business.
Proudest accomplishment: Our team built a national footprint that spans more than 50 markets, covering over 300 cities in the U.S. It’s a testament to our team’s focus on executing for our customers and partners.
What is the next problem your company intends to solve? We’ve built an amazing platform that’s helping small and large businesses around the country run their day-to-day operations more effectively. We’ve created easy access for companies to get the vehicles they need 24/7 365 days a year. Now, we’re focused on growing into the broader business landscape, from startups to large companies. We want to lead the way businesses move in an efficient and sustainable way.
