A mobile pet food store recently opened in the Eaton area, and its owners are hoping to help fellow pet-lovers create a healthy lifestyle for their animals.

Eaton residents Greg and Paula Beherns opened a mobile Pet Wants that services the greater Eaton area, including Richmond, Indiana and Oxford, Ohio on Dec. 3. Their mobile store provides dog and cat food, as well as pet treats delivered to homeowners’ door steps.

Although business is doing well so far, the Beherns already have their hopes set on a bigger goal. They wish to potentially open a storefront within the next year in the hopes of reaching as many pet lovers as possible in their community. The location of the new storefront is undecided as of now.

Greg and Paula have been educators for over 20 years, but they’ve been pet lovers for even longer. They are proud owners of two Dobermans, Kit and Daisy, and wanted to find a new brand of dog food that would improve their health and energy.

The Beherns were introduced to the Pet Wants brand last spring when they drove through Hamilton and stopped in at a pet store, where they found Pet Wants food. After one of their Dobermans began suffering from skin issues in the spring, the couple wanted to switch both their dogs’ food in an attempt to solve their growing health concerns.

When their dogs ate the Pet Wants food, they loved it. The Beherns saw results from the food change in only a couple of months. Their dog’s skin issue was almost completely cleared, and both Kit and Daisy had more energy. The Beherns were so thrilled with the results from the food that they decided to open a location with the brand to help other pet owners create a healthy and happy lifestyle for their animals.

It was the perfect time for the couple to open the mobile shop, as Greg retired recently from teaching high school math and engineering, and Paula is set to retire at the end of this month from Miami University. They both wanted to avoid sitting around and doing nothing after retirement, so taking on a new business venture was a great way for them to get on their feet and help the community.

According to Greg, the greater Eaton area needs a business such as a mobile Pet Wants because the pet industry is flourishing, and people are more invested in their animals than ever before.

“The pet industry in general is booming. People are now spending more on their pets than they ever have,” Greg said. “When you see the quality of big brand name foods, it’s just okay, but this food is so much better, and you can’t just go buy it at a Walmart or any big-name stores. It’s only sold through people with a franchise, and nowadays, people want everything delivered, so someone can just put the 40-pound bag of dog food on their porch, and they are satisfied.”

Pet Wants is a pet health and wellness company that strives to improve the nutrition, health, vitality, and well-being of pets. Founded in 2010, the brand’s specially crafted, private-label pet food formulas are made in small batches with fresh, natural ingredients enhanced with vitamins and minerals for a complete and balanced diet in every bowl, all made in the USA. Pet Wants has set a new standard in what you should expect in your pet food and has created the ultimate convenience with free, personal delivery through their 90+ locations across the United States.
