A Miamisburg-based electric aviation company is continuing to expand to greater heights.

Lectratek has announced the opening of its third office at the National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence (NAAMCE) in Springfield. This expansion marks a significant milestone for the young company.

NAAMCE, located at Springfield-Beckley Airport, is a hub for manufacturers and operators of electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles. It is also used for companies that work around advanced air mobility (AAM). The center has a total of 30,000 square feet of office space; and 25,000 square feet of aircraft hangar space for the U.S. Air Force and private industry.

“The expansion to NAAMCE is a game-changer for Lectratek,” said Don McLaughlin, business manager for Lectratek. “Being part of this environment enables us to collaborate more effectively with key partners and stakeholders, accelerating the development and integration of advanced electric aviation technologies.”

NAAMCE provides a collaborative environment that brings together Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the Air Force Research Laboratory, NASA, Ohio UAS Center, colleges, research institutions, and private industries, according to a release. Lectratek joins 13 other AAM companies at the center, including big names like Joby Aviation and AFWERX.

“We’re excited to welcome Lectratek to the National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence as the center continues to grow in prominence and activity,” said Springfield Assistant City Manager Tom Franzen. “Lectratek’s expertise in cutting-edge electronics, advanced batteries and enclosures, and efficient quiet ducted fans will strengthen NAAMCE’s preeminent role in advancing electric aviation.”

In addition to this new Springfield location, Lectratek maintains its headquarters in Miamisburg and office space in the downtown Dayton Arcade.

The company was founded in 2020 out of Rushlight Ventures. It offers power and propulsion solutions. Leveraging the expertise of its aerospace and defense sister company, CRG, Lectratek provides technologies in quiet propulsion and eAviation powertrain components.
