A vertically integrated group of manufacturing companies serving the data center, electric vehicle and robotic markets has witnessed massive growth since 2021. The boost follows an influx of demand for product solutions in data center construction across North America.

Michael Rubiera, president and CEO of Accelevation, said data demand was already incredibly robust from the amount of data companies are storing and utilizing to make decisions to the growth in autonomous vehicles. But AI has acted as gas on the fire, exploding demand even further.

Rubiera said there is no data center space available in North America, with centers booked out years in advance. With a tight market, companies have entered the expensive data center construction sector to create their own facilities.

“The amount of construction and the billions upon billions of dollars that are being spent right now to build data centers is unheard of and we are the only ones in North America who have a complete solution – from manufacturing the products to designing the data centers to installing the products and the solutions,” Rubiera said.

Accelevation works with more than 50 companies including billion-dollar giants and hyperscalers like Microsoft, Google, U.S. Department of Defense, Facebook and TikTok.

While first launched in 2018, Rubiera said the company began to witness a massive boost following the pandemic. Accelevation’s couple million in 2021 revenue exploded into just south of $200 million in 2023. Employment climbed from 25 to 300 over the same period with intent to hire another 100 in 2024.

To match the accelerated growth, their manufacturing space in Southwest Ohio grew from 20,000 square feet to 300,000 square feet over the two-year period. Accelevation currently has facilities in Springboro, Miamisburg, New Hampshire and Utah.

“These are products that are currently primarily sourced overseas, with really long lead times,” Rubiera said. “By us being able to manufacture them locally and supply our customers, we’re able to reduce lead times by months, not days or weeks. Everything we do is about moving fast.”

Accelevation provides lead times at two to three weeks compared to their market competitors at 16 weeks.

The manufacturer has also acquired eight companies to its group. Data service provider TXA was its most recent addition in late August.

“We've flown way under the radar in southwest Ohio intentionally,” Rubiera said. “We're arguably the largest provider of [data center] solutions now in North America and none of our competitors saw us coming, which was exactly what we wanted.”

Growth only will continue as Accelevation gears up to launch new product lines in 2024. Rubiera said one of their core focuses is electrical component solutions primarily sourced overseas that the company will now manufacture locally. Additionally, to combat labor shortages, Accelevation will pre-build and ship components which used to be built on site.

“We're just looking at how we can provide better solutions to enable our customers to build out their buildings faster and launch quicker,” Rubiera said. “…We're continuing to provide a one stop shop solution for the major data center providers out there.”
