After a successful two years in business and recent exponential growth after relocation to Kettering, woman-owned meal kit and prepared meal service Get Dished is launching a new service and balancing local partnerships, with eyes on future endeavors.
Get Dished owner Katie Easton is celebrating two years in business with the official grand opening of its Kettering location. At the same time, it will launch a new grab-and-go service for busy and hungry customers on the move.
Local passersby will now be able to walk into the store without pre-ordering for their pick of a snack, lunch or dinner option, ranging from $6 to $12. Easton said the menu may have some items mirroring the weekly pre-order or their own unique spin depending on the week.
Here is the new schedule the company will run on starting next week:
- Monday – 3-7 p.m. (Pre-order pickups, grab-and-go and Val’s Home Bakery)
- Tuesday – 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. (Grab-and-go)
- Friday – 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. (Grab-and-go and Val’s Home Bakery)
- Saturday – 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. (Grab-and-go and Val’s Home Bakery)
- Sunday – 3-7 p.m. (Pre-order pickups and grab-and-go)
To celebrate the launch, Get Dished will host a grand opening from 3 to 6 p.m. this Sunday, June 5 at 5860 Bigger Road in Kettering. The event will include limited products for purchase from Get Dished, Val’s Home Bakery, local vendors and the Wild Banana Smoothie food truck.
Easton said since the company’s move into Kettering in March, she’s seen Get Dished’s customer base increase by 35% with more than 10 new customers signing onto the service each week. She attributes some of the recent exponential growth to local partnerships in the store.
Easton said the addition of Val’s Home Bakery to share the space, alongside selling local vendor products such as jewelry, art, oils, candles and dog treats, has resulted in increased foot traffic and exposure for the brand.
“Our business has almost doubled in two months,” Easton said. “It's just crazy.”
To accommodate growth, Get Dished currently employs 17 local workers. That’s eight more than when DBJ last spoke to Easton in December of 2021 and she’s looking to continue hiring in 2022.
For the remainder of the year, Easton said she wants to continue perfecting her menu and offerings with a taste test kitchen operating every other Tuesday to experiment with portion sizes, new meals and more. She also plans to dip into the creation of her own condiments line.
“I just want to continue to grow and help the local community be able to enjoy fresh, healthy food that tastes great, is convenient for them and just allows them to focus on all the things that really matter,” Easton said.
Stay tuned for additional information to be added to the official Get Dished website later this week.
