“Being a newer small business, this recognition will enable us to invest in top-of-the-line tools that will greatly enhance the outstanding service we offer our customers. Additionally, we are excited to launch some new marketing initiatives to further boost our business growth,” said Jessica and Shane Day, owners of Day’s Heating and Cooling LLC.

A regional HVAC company plans to leverage a recent funding award to grow its business and provide education on the career path for the next generation of workers.

Jobber, a leading provider of home services software, recently named 15 recipients to receive $150,000 in funds through the Jobber Grants program. A Huber Heights HVAC company, Day’s Heating and Cooling LLC, received part of the funding.

The two-year-old company was selected among thousands of applicants and awarded $10,000 to accelerate their future growth.

Dayton entrepreneurs and owners Shane and Jessica Day plan to invest their funds in vehicle branding, advanced tools, and a new website as part of a strategy to increase service capacity. A portion of funds will also be utilized to provide free HVAC services to those in need.

“Our goal is to offer assistance for services during the fall/winter seasons to individuals facing financial constraints,” Jessica Day said. “Consider it an unexpected blessing to those in need.”

Shane Day serves on the advisory board Wayne High School’s new HVAC program to fostering the next generation of technicians. A portion of funding will go toward improved marketing and staff education to show HVAC as a viable and lucrative career path for next generation techs.

“One of the biggest challenges going forward in the HVAC workforce is making sure we have enough skilled labor,” Shane Day said. “Over the next couple years, the baby boomers will be at retirement age. Focusing on proper training, working with trade schools and the younger generation is and will be crucial.”

After 16 years in the industry, Shane Day started Day’s Heating and Cooling in 2022. The small family-owned company aims to offer budget-friendly solutions to customers.

Day’s Heating and Cooling is headquartered at 5151 Monitor Dr. in Huber Heights. The company currently employs one team member outside of its owners. The Day’s aim to hire another two by the end of 2025 and intend to continue scaling employment with future growth.

In 2024, Jessica Day said Day’s Heating and Cooling has seen a 40% jump in revenue.

Shane Day said the number of HVAC businesses in the United States continues to grow each year. He said increased construction activity and increasing demand for advanced technology and energy-efficient systems contribute to the growth of the industry.

However, the HVAC industry also has its share of challenges. Day said rising inflation and interest rates contribute to decreased consumer spending, making it harder to sell new equipment.

On trends, Day said smart thermostats and indoor air quality solutions have become popular. The advancement of technology assists in the development of system efficiency and connectivity.
