A startup incubator in Dayton recently opened applications its free boot camp. The program focuses on helping underrepresented and underserved entrepreneurs establish or grow their business.
The Greater West Dayton Incubator recently opened applications for its Business Blitz. Applications will remain open through Jan. 26.
"The GWDI is excited to continue providing entrepreneurs in our community with cutting-edge sessions to help legitimize, digitize and access capital in business,” said Whitney Barkley, incubator director. “Our goal is to ensure underrepresented entrepreneurs are always in the know to be best equipped to start and sustain business."
Sessions will be held on Saturdays in February and also includes timely topics such as the Corporate Transparency Act, which goes into effect this year, and artificial intelligence for business. The boot camp culminates with the opportunity for participants to apply for an LLC with the $99 fee covered by the incubator.
The incubator hopes to further its reach following the success of Business Blitz in 2023. More than 100 entrepreneurs participated in the first boot camps, including Jasmine Roberts, owner of JAZ Crew LLC, a youth development services business.
“I learned a wealth of information," Roberts said. “It’s a great opportunity to learn and work alongside other business owners.”
