The Vested Group, a Plano-based NetSuite services company, was founded in 2011 and has staked up a number of awards, including the NetSuite 5-Star Award every year since 2014. However, if you ask the leaders of the company, it’s not just awards that set it apart from others in the marketplace -- it also has to do with the culture and environment that has been carefully crafted over the years.
According to founder Joel Patterson, when building up the company, the focus was always on finding the right people to grow the organization, more so than on the “what” of the product. Now, with more than 30 employees, The Vested Group continues to carry that on with the infusion of the company’s six core values, including owning your role, helping and collaboration, and learning to appreciate the lessons in failure.
“We strive to create a different work space for our employees where they feel comfortable to be themselves and have fun even though they are working,” said Stevie Patterson, marketing & culture coordinator for The Vested Group. “We celebrate our wins and failures as a whole, which makes a difference in our everyday work lives – this not only helps develop our employees professionally, but on a personal level as well.”
The focus on culture, climate and employees extends into the physical workspace at The Vested Group’s East Plano offices. Recently renovated, the office features the staple of modern work design – an open-floor plan. This helps to facilitate the collaboration the team prides itself on. In addition, the company has been using the layout and furniture to help give a more laid-back feel, something that’s aided by a game room with vintage arcade and an outdoor working space.
