Plano-based card collectors company Beckett Collectibles has acquired Houston-based technology organization Due Dilly, according to a news release.

The acquisition is part of Beckett’s strategy to use technology to effectively create products and services for collectors.

“Computer vision is the future, and we’re going to integrate Due Dilly’s technology and their team to make sure we can provide the fastest and most efficient grading and authentication in the industry,” Kunal Chopra, CEO of Beckett, said in the release.

Due Dilly, founded in 2021, also provides assessments and real-time pricing for collectibles.

“There has never been more opportunity in our space,” Andrew Medal, co-founder and CEO of Due Dilly, said in the release. “We’re at a pivotal point in the hobby’s evolution, and we’re excited to take the hobby further than it’s ever been. I know how much potential there is for technology to improve the collector experience, create transparency and help people collect more cards.”

Beckett Collectibles was founded in 1979 by Dr. James Beckett to provide pricing guides for classic American sports cards. The company has expanded to provide grading services and print and digital tools.

In June, the company named Chopra as its CEO. According to the release at the time, the appointment “comes amid growing demand for Beckett’s products and services, as well as the expansion of its business into web3 digital assets and a renewed focus on using technology to serve and propel the industry.”
