Kansas City-based Polsinelli and Seattle-based Rowan TELS have partnered to implement Rowan Patents, the company announced in a news release.

According to the release, the partnership will allow Rowan to acquire technology developed in-house by Polsinelli to enhance the patent software.

“We are thrilled to partner with Polsinelli and to help its nationally recognized IP practice continue to deliver high-quality service to its clients through technology and deep expertise,” John Amster, CEO of Rowan TELS, said in the release. “Rowan Patents helps practitioners allocate more time to the parts of drafting and prosecution that only a highly trained patent attorney can do. Polsinelli is a leader in delivering quality in more effective ways, and we are delighted they chose Rowan to commercialize their innovative features.”

With an office in Dallas, Polsinelli is a law firm that leverages technology to support its IP practice in developing patents for clients. The partnership between Polsinelli and Rowan will help grow Rowan Patents as an integrated platform to draft a patent in one tool to ensure consistency.

“Use of technology to improve our patent drafting and prosecution is critical to how we meet the exacting needs of our clients, and has become a competitive advantage for Polsinelli,” said Brian McKnight, a shareholder at Polsinelli, said in the release. “We were drawn to Rowan for its extensive experience, significant investments made into its software, and its ability to support the needs of an IP practice as broad as ours. We know Rowan is the right long-term partner for the firm.”
