A Dallas-based software startup has landed new funding to grow its presence in a rapidly growing industry.

Botisimo, a cross-platform chatbot tool developer, announced securing a $700,000 seed round from local software-focused operating partner Mason Bridge.

“For live streamers, in the past, they had to leverage numerous broadcast platforms and then use tools specifically compatible with each platform which made the process of streaming tedious and time-consuming,” said Oscar Armstrong, CEO of Botisimo, in a statement. “With Botisimo, we are… allowing them the ability to connect with their followers easily and with the most high-tech tools on the market.”

The company plans to use the new funding to help grow its business and user base, while developing new features for its software.

Armstrong, who has worked in software development for local companies like Infocyte and Vega, launched Botisimo in 2018. The company’s technology allows users to manage chats on streaming platforms including Twitch, YouTube, Discord and Facebook. Through the tool users can set up donations, filter negative language and create custom commands. It also allows users to track analytics across the multiple online platforms.

“Everyone from gamers, musicians, hobbyists, celebrities and more connecting with their audience on social media platforms,” Tim Storer, managing director at Mason Bridge, said in a statement. “Botisimo is well-positioned to take advantage of this market growth by providing the tools streamers need to more effectively engage with their growing audiences.”

With the new funding, Botisimo joins Mason Bridge’s portfolio, which includes other local tech companies, such as Zyston, Distribion, Vertical Nerve and MarketingFX.

“Unlike many no-cost, platform-specific tools offered on the market today, Botisimo offers a transparent business model based on a small subscription fee whereas other free tool options provide no support and make money by selling their clients—and audiences—data,” Armstrong said. “This is an important differentiator for Botisimo as consumer concerns around privacy online continue to grow.”
