New technology is changing the way the world works and the way that people live their everyday lives. However, one local software company aimed at finding housing for everyone is hoping its tech can spur change across the country.

BoodsKapper, a Dallas-based provider of software solutions geared towards helping families find affordable housing, has raised an undisclosed seed round, CrunchBase reported and NTX Inno confirmed. Boodskapper was launched in 2015.

“Our company’s mission is to connect everyone that is working in the homelessness space,” said Bejoy Narayana, Boodskapper CEO and co-founder. “We place the housing authorities in the center... and then build the network around them.”

The company is the maker of InspectionMate, an AI software implemented by the Dallas Housing Authority (DHA) to increase efficiency.

The DHA began using InspectionMate in July, and the program is already benefitting the organization, as well as the families that it serves. The software uses AI to help make many of the organization’s processes more efficient, with a focus on one of the DHA’s primary functions: inspecting potential units for clients.

With the new seed funding from an undisclosed angel investor, BoodsKapper plans to split the influx between marketing and adding new features to its software platform to expand its offerings across the region and the country.

“We want to make it easy for [families] to search for housing, and they should be able to do it conversationally,” Narayana said.

He also stated that BoodsKapper has 20,000 families and 6,000 property managers using its software.

BoodsKapper hopes with the new funding to be able to partner with more housing authorities to place more people in housing. Narayana said that as more organizations come online, the more the company’s network grows, meaning the more families it can help.

“The network effect we intend to bring in that is the biggest value we create for the world,” Narayana said.
