Carissa De Santis, Chief Technology Officer at BRIX Holdings, was honored at the Dallas Business Journal's 2023 Women in Technology Awards.

At BRIX, De Santis is responsible for the vision, strategy and execution of all technology and digital solutions for all brands within the company.

De Santis spent a significant portion of her career in the restaurant industry, starting as a hostess and working her way up to management. She eventually secured a corporate position on the Strategic Operations team.

Seeking an opportunity to jump to the technology team, De Santis’ mentorship with the CIO allowed her the chance and she hasn’t looked back since.

What do you consider your biggest accomplishment over the past year?

My biggest accomplishment in the last year has been the ability to make Friendly's relevant again by upgrading a technology stack that was almost 30 years old, providing the potential for growth and scale as we re-invigorate the brand.

What opportunity for your company over the next year has you most excited?

I am most excited about the new technologies we are introducing in some of our other brands that are incorporating AI/BI, automation and robotics into the daily store operations.
