Columbus Inno is once again on a quest: We want to find the coolest office in Central Ohio. Or offices, as the case may be.
Last year our inaugural Central Ohio's Coolest Offices contest crowned Quantum Health as its winner, based on an online poll. The Dublin-based health-tech company operates its Blazer Parkway headquarters with a "rational hoteling” approach in mind, part of its embrace of remote work. About 1,200 employees regularly take advantage of the physical space, according to the company.

Zane Burke was named CEO of Quantum in September 2021. Before that he was CEO of telehealth company Livongo Health Inc., one of Silicon Valley's fastest-growing companies, stepping down after leading it through its IPO and $18.5 billion merger with Teladoc Health Inc.

A message board along a corridor refers to Quantum Health's mission as a benefits navigation company. Its clients are large self-insured employers, and Quantum's representatives, called "warriors," help covered employees and dependents figure out what's covered and guide them through steps like finding a specialist or getting a prescription filled.

Quantum's staff are assigned to pods that represent specific clients. They learn those client health plans thoroughly, so covered members never get bounced around to someone unfamiliar with the network and coverage.

More than two decades old, Quantum is a large legacy employer in Central Ohio. But our 2023 contest also showed off some of the small, innovative companies that make Columbus' startup community vibrant, and this year we hope to spread the love.
So we'll be holding two votes this year, one to name the Coolest Office for small companies — those with less than 100 employees — and large ones. And as always, this is Columbus Inno, so we want to hear from companies that have an innovative spirit, even if they are not necessarily young startups.
Want to participate? Email me at ekennedy@bizjournals.com with the following:
- Three to 10 photos of your company's office.
- A brief description of what your company does and how it innovates, plus an explanation of how your physical space reflects that effort.
- Employee count.
- Photo credit and copyright information for your submitted photos. We need to know who took the photos, who owns them, and that we have permission from the latter party to use them.
If your company participated last year, you're still more than welcome to submit again — unless you won. Sorry Quantum.
We'll begin running office features at the start of March, and then hold our votes at the end of the month. All entries must be in by March 15.
