E-commerce aggregator Society Brands has acquired California brands Clarifion and Cleanomic for undisclosed terms.

Both Orange County-based brands are part of a movement toward "clean" living and join Society Brands' January acquisition of Primal Life Organics, an e-tailer of clean beauty products near Akron.

Clarifion offers a line of air ionizers and purifiers that Canton-based Society Brands in a statement said "represent the future of air ionization, HEPA filtration and reduction of bad odors."

Cleanomic offers eco-friendly laundry, cleaning, kitchen and bathroom products in biodegradable or reusable packaging. Cleanomic markets its products in bundles as well as by subscription.

The two California companies represent Society Brands' third and fourth acquisitions in five months after a yearlong pause.

"We are projecting to see Society Brands’ growth accelerate considerably in 2024," said Michael Sirpilla, Society Brands' co-founder and CEO, in the company's statement announcing the deals. "The acquisitions of Clarifion and Cleanomic, just a month removed from partnering with Primal Life Organics, is just the beginning."

Sirpilla added that the company is in "the best financial position since inception."

"We’ve grown from $0 to $100 million in revenue in less than two years," he said, "and in 2024 are projecting significant increase in profitability."

Winner of the Inno Madness bracket competition from Cleveland Inno in 2023, Society Brands has raised $230 million in venture capital — an unusually large amount for a Northeast Ohio startup — since its 2020 founding.

Society Brands has acquired 11 companies since July 2022. A majority of the company's revenue comes from direct-to-consumer sales through Shopify.
