Smart Soda Holdings Inc. has launched a compact, countertop version of its smart, vitamin-infused, alkaline water dispenser.
Designed for commercial use, JuLi Connect enables users to customize the carbonation level, flavor combination and functional nutrition of their alkaline water, soda or tea, the Mayfield Heights, Ohio, startup said on Tuesday.
"All SmartSoda offerings are based on the proven health benefits of alkaline water," said Lior Shafir, CEO of the company that stylizes its name as SmartSoda, in the statement.
JuLi Connect provides an alternative to traditional soda for offices, convenience stores and restaurants with its portfolio of more than 20 natural flavors and a range of functional wellness shots, Shafir said.
Facilities managers can install, maintain and service their JuLi Connect dispensers by using tools on a smart phone app, he said.
SmartSoda's JuLi Connect system offers cost savings over comparable dispensers and is more environmentally friendly than vending machines stocked with bottled and canned beverages, Julia Solooki, the company's co-founder and chairman, said in its statement.
In August, SmartSoda landed a $3 million investment and strategic partnership agreement with Refreshing USA, which provides vending machine, micro market, and water and coffee dispenser services to workplaces nationwide.
The company also was one of Cleveland Inno's Startups to Watch in 2022 and participated in its inaugural Cleveland Inno Madness competition last March.
Nominations for this year's bracket-style startup competition opened on Jan. 30.
