Axuall Inc., the digital professional identity network in Cleveland, has hired Mike Bechtel as senior vice president of commercial growth.
Bechtel briefly worked with Charlie Lougheed, co-founder and CEO of Axuall, at one of Lougheed's previous startups, Explorys, the health data company in Cleveland that was acquired by IBM in 2015.
"It’s great to be working with Mike again as we scale our national commercial footprint," Lougheed said in a statement.
Axuall's network enables health care providers to share their authenticated credentials and qualifications in real time.
Founded in 2018, Axuall has moved into the growth phase and is beginning to use its data to bridge gaps in patient care as Covid aggravates shortages of physicians and other clinicians.
Bechtel will be responsible for commercial and collaboration development among clients and stakeholders, Axuall said.
"Optimizing and managing clinical workforce data and analytics is vital" to minimizing revenues lost to the inefficient onboarding and enrollment of clinical staff, Bechtel said in Axuall's statement.
After beginning his career in hospital administration, Bechtel moved into the health care technology sector, where he held leadership positions in sales, strategy, account management and client services with companies such as Emmi Solutions, Explorys and Oneview Healthcare, Axuall said.
Most recently, Bechtel was vice president of health care and insurance for Prove, the digital identity authentication network based in New York City, according to Bechtel's LinkedIn page.
In July 2021, Axuall raised $10.4 million in a Series A funding round led by Flare Capital Partners in Boston. The funding round also included local investors such as University Hospitals Ventures, JumpStart and North Coast Ventures.
