Longtime biomedical leader staying in Cleveland while leading Illinois company

Jon Snyder, a longtime biomedical leader in Northeast Ohio, has been appointed CEO of Realeve LLC in central Illinois.

The founder of Neuros Medical, headquartered in Willoughby Hills, Ohio, will continue to live and work in the Cleveland area, Snyder said in a LinkedIn message.

Realeve, based in Effingham, Illinois, is a medical device company developing and commercializing therapies that treat autonomic disorders, particularly severe headaches.

Snyder has joined a growing number of CEOs who work remotely at their new gigs rather than leave communities to which they and their families are connected.

For instance, Jon Gray, CEO of RVshare, the recreational vehicle-sharing marketplace based in Akron, Ohio, runs his company from his home office in Austin, Texas.

Snyder has 30 years of global management experience in biomedical and healthcare sales, marketing, operations and fundraising with significant experience in bringing new products to the marketplace, Realeve said in a press release.

He has worked for startups and Fortune 500 companies including Cardinal Health in Dublin, Ohio, Realeve said.

Snyder also did two stints as an executive in residence at BioEnterprise, the former biomedical company developer in Cleveland.

Snyder will remain an executive advisor for Neuros Medical, at which he has raised $35 million in venture capital and strategic partner investment, Realeve said in a press release.

Snyder founded the developer of neurostimulation devices to treat chronic pain in 2008.

The Effingham medical device developer also announced a name change to Realeve from Unity HA to support the commercialization of its Pulsante SPG Microstimulator System for cluster headaches.
