Goodyear Tire & Rubber's venture capital arm has made an undisclosed investment in AmpUp, an electric vehicle (EV) software company and network provider.

AmpUp, based in Cupertino, California, gives businesses and property owners the ability to manage multiple charge stations and locations on one platform.

"Goodyear is interested in enabling the future of mobility, including within the EV sector," said Abhijit Ganguly, managing director of Goodyear Ventures, in a press release.

"AmpUp will provide us with valuable insights on the latest electrification trends and bring (its) solutions to our fleet customers who are considering electrification," Ganguly said.

Goodyear was joined by Foothill Ventures and TechNexus Venture Collaborative in the recent investment.

Secured less than one year from AmpUp's initial seed raise, the Cupertino software company plans to use the capital to scale operational and technical capabilities to meet growing sales demand, the company said in a press release.

Goodyear Ventures, located in Akron, Ohio, partners with and invests in seed- and growth-stage startups in emerging mobility technology, including EV mobility and infrastructure.

Goodyear's venture arm also has invested in robotic technology maker Starship Technologies.

And Goodyear is working with energy supplier Enovos to build two large solar-power stations at its testing facilities in Colmar-Berg, Luxembourg.
