Cleveland State said it will partner with tech training provider Fullstack Academy to offer tech training bootcamps.

The school said it will start taking applications for its Cleveland State University Tech Bootcamps training academies this summer. Bootcamps will focus on either cybersecurity, coding or data analytics, and will be approximately 26 weeks long in length.

Fullstack Academy is a coding bootcamp based in New York City. It offers web development and cybersecurity bootcamps at its Chicago and New York City campuses and online, and also has partnerships with schools including Virginia Tech and Caltech CTME. The company is owned by Zovio Inc. (Nasdaq: ZVO) of Arizona.

Bootcamp participants don't have to enroll at Cleveland State. School and company officials said there are nearly 1,000 available entry-level tech positions across Ohio, saying the Cleveland region will experience a workforce growth of nearly 25% in cybersecurity and 6-8% in coding and data analytics over the next 10 years.

“Expanding our learning opportunities to help professionals further their education and meet the market’s needs is one of our top priorities, especially in today’s landscape where many individuals are looking to re-enter the workforce or embark on a new career path,” said Nancy Pratt, executive director of the Division of Continuing and Extended Education at Cleveland State University, in a statement.

The cost of the program is $11,495, a Fullstack officials said, adding that all students in inaugural programs will be awarded a $1,500 founders scholarship.

The program will probably be similar to the Fullstack Academy/University of North Florida bootcamp reported on last year. That 26-week program costs $11,910.
