Involta, an information technology service provider, said it has acquired the assets of SecureData 365 in Canton, Ohio, for an undisclosed price.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Involta said the acquisition adds a new data center and a 13-employee team to Involta's national portfolio.

Involta said it already owns and operates four data centers in the northeast Ohio region, providing nearly 130,000 square feet of enterprise space at two sites in Akron and one each in Independence and Youngstown. It also operates data centers in Arizona, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania.

"We are excited to bring our SecureData 365 Canton infrastructure and team under the Involta umbrella," said Michael Campanelli, executive vice president at SecureData 365, in a statement.

SecureData 365 said its Canton center "was strategically placed in a location convenient to the Midwest’s largest metro areas, yet far enough away to provide separation for critical computing systems." SecureData also operates a data center in Cleveland, which is not part of the sale.
