Cell X, the Cleveland cell-techology startup, hires first VP of operations

Cell X Technologies, the medical technology startup in Cleveland, has hired Brian Handerhan in the newly created position of vice president of operations.

Cell X is a fully robotic cell culture automation and analysis system used to develop cell therapies. Handerhan will oversee sales, marketing, product development and product management to drive growth in all cell therapy markets served by Cell X, the company said in a statement.

"Brian brings us extensive leadership and operational experience that will greatly benefit us as we develop new applications to meet customer demands," said Dr. Peter Johnson, CEO of Cell X, in a statement.

Handerhan spent nearly 22 at Mayfield Heights, Ohio-based Parker Hannifin Corp. in the Pittsburgh area, starting as a senior manufacturing engineer in 1999 and leaving the company as a marketing manager, according to his LinkedIn page.

Founded in 2017, Cell X Technologies Inc. develops and provides equipment, software and process management tools to support stem cell research and bio-fabrication.
