All but one of this year's Cleveland Inno Under 25 entrepreneurs founded their companies while in college, and one founded his company soon after graduating — illustrating the important role that Northeast Ohio universities play in launching startups.

Three of this year's founders developed their businesses at Kent State University, and two founders learned what it means to be an entrepreneur at Case Western Reserve University.

The final entrepreneur started his hotel booking service while studying business at the University of Michigan.

From blockchain to 3-D printers, our young innovators are using technology to answer problems and do jobs in different ways from their predecessors.

In addition to being younger than 25 years old, these young people share a belief that Northeast Ohio is a good place to do business because of its low cost of operations and access to thought leaders and academicians.

One founder even worked with Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb to help lead FutureLand — the annual conference celebrating the diversity in tech, arts and culture in Northeast Ohio.

All of our selections have started businesses in industries ranging from logistics to manufacturing.
