A Cincinnati-based accelerator for women-owned startups has its next cohort.
On Friday, Aviatra Accelerators announced the six participants in its 2022 Launch class. The entrepreneurs will partake in a 10-week program that culminates in a "Flight Night" pitch competition this September where $10,000 is on the line.
The cohort includes:
- Molly Hoying, owner of Vale Technologies, LLC, that takes CO2 from natural gas and converts it to a recoverable fuel
- Ann Johnston, owner of Hyde Forty-Seven, a line of patent-pending interchangeable jewelry
- Helen On and Julie Rowland, business partners of The Nail Salon Network, creators of an app written in Vietnamese for 60,000 Vietnamese independent nail salon owners to bring overall efficiencies to their businesses and increase profits
- Abbi Rettig, owner of Tickety-Boo Treats, manufacturer of allergen-friendly desserts to people with dietary restrictions
- Christina Kidwell, owner of Local Studio 325, a market for locally made goods, workshops, day camps and classes for children
Launch is tailored to female business owners who already operate a vetted business with an established revenue stream and customer base. It is one of three programs Aviatra offers.
Last year's pitch competition was won by Aclipse Campervans, founded in 2019 by friends Sofia Mimendi and Emily Bruns. Aclipse Campervans provides a unique and all-inclusive solution for people who want to adventure in nature, but without the need to invest in their own camping gear. The company’s rentable campervans provide a higher level of comfort and amenities that traditional camping does not.
