The retired executive who launched Procter & Gamble's internal startup studio is now serving on the board of a Cincinnati public company.
On Tuesday, downtown-based E.W. Scripps Co. (Nasdaq: SSP) announced Leigh Radford, who founded P&G Ventures, has been elected to its board of directors. Radford was elected to the board alongside Burton Jablin, a longtime Scripps executive.
"Burton and Leigh bring us a great depth of experience and insight into consumer brand marketing and the media industry," Scripps CEO Adam Symson said in a statement. "Both have led accomplished professional lives with expertise that will help guide Scripps through its ongoing evolution."
Radford spent more than 30 years with P&G, launching P&G Ventures in 2015. The organization's goal is to help the consumer goods giant find its next billion-dollar brand.
P&G Ventures, to date, has launched four new brands:
- Zevo, a line of insect control products
- Opte, a smart beauty device to treat facial hyperpigmentation
- Bodewell, a line of plant-based products to treat chronic skin conditions
- Kindra, a product line to help women combat the symptoms of menopause.
