A Cincinnati entrepreneur has reached a deal with Target to have her skin care products sold online, Business Courier media partner Local 12 reports.
When esthetician Sylvia Brownlee founded Skin by Brownlee & Co. seven years ago, she worked out of a 200-square-foot space.
"It was so small, and I separated it so I still had a little waiting area, and you would go back and we would work on your services," Brownlee said.
Her business and clientele began to grow, eventually catching the attention of representatives from Target, though she almost didn't answer the company's social media direct message at first, thinking it was spam.
"I said, I'm just going to email it, and I did, and they said they loved my page, and 'We'd love to talk about bringing you to Target,'" Brownlee said. "It was not real to me until last week."
She had an official launch party this week to share the news with friends, family, and clients. Four of her top-selling products are featured online and could eventually make it to store shelves.
No matter how big she gets, Brownlee said making products that work for all complexions and keeping her clients happy will always be the goal.
Her store is located at 7337 Montgomery Road in Silverton.
