A Cincinnati-based software company's new app is aiming to revolutionize nonprofit giving.

Downtown-based DonorDrive has launched an app that gives nonprofits access to a pool of prospective donors and boosts their ability communicate with donors, including existing ones, through personalized and timely in-app messaging, according to a release.

The result, the release states, is higher fundraising amounts and greater retention rates among existing donors.

The app is an extension of DonorDrive's existing web-based software, which is designed to spark peer to peer fundraising opportunities for nonprofits.

"As with everything else in our lives, people today primarily use their phones to engage with nonprofit causes," DonorDrive CEO Marc Rubner said in a statement. "The demand for a better mobile fundraising experience was too loud to ignore. With the launch of the DonorDrive Charity Fundraising app, we're raising the bar, just like we did for charity live streaming and virtual events over the last several years."
