Cincinnati tech firm Clubessential Holdings has snatched up a Utah peer in its latest acquisition.

On Wednesday, the Blue Ash-based company, which created a platform to help private clubs provide digital services, announced its acquisition of ForeUp to expand its reach into public golf clubs and courses, according to a release. Terms of the deal, which closed Feb. 19, were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Pleasant Grove, Utah, ForeUp specializes in cloud-based point of sale, tee sheet, billing, food and beverage, and reporting software solutions, as well as marketing and web services, the release states. CEO Evan Teshima will continue to lead the company and report to Clubessential CEO Randy Eckels.

"We've followed Evan and the ForeUp team, over the past several years, as they've successfully transitioned the public golf software market to the cloud," Eckels said in a statement. "We've been impressed with their vision, commitment and passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences through innovative applications of technology."

Clubessential was formed in 1998 as a way for golfers to book tee times in real time online. Through the years it has grown into a platform that helps private clubs automate and digitize many of their services. For instance, club members can check their accounts, make reservations for dining or spa services, or update their profiles through Clubessential's platform. It also handles point-of-sale, accounting, customer-relationship management and retail services for clubs.

Its companies include Clubessential, Club-Ready, Vermont Systems and PrestoSports. Between ForeUp and Clubessential, the company now serves nearly 3,000 public and private clubs and courses.

Clubessential ranks among the region's fastest-growing companies, coming in at No. 5 on the Courier's Fast 55 list with 227% three-year revenue growth. The company has more than 400 employees, including the 95 it will add thanks to ForeUp.
