One of the fastest-growing companies in Greater Cincinnati is adding a number of high-paying jobs as it continues to expand.

Interlink Cloud Advisors Inc., a cloud consulting company specializing in Microsoft’s cloud technologies, plans to add 16 employees in the next three years, thanks in part to a state incentive. The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a six-year, nearly 1.56% job creation tax credit Monday morning to help with Interlink’s job creation. The estimated value of the tax credit is $105,000.

Matt Scherocman, president of Deerfield Township-based Interlink, said the tax incentive will help him invest in his employees’ development.

“Anything that helps us invest in that is huge,” Scherocman told me.

The 16 additional hires in three years is expected to be very conservative, Scherocman said. Since the start of 2021, Interlink has already hired seven new employees.

Interlink has been one of the region’s fastest-growing companies. Last year, the firm ranked as a Business Courier Fast 55 company. It posted 2019 revenue of $7.9 million, up 70% from 2018.

In 2020, Interlink’s revenue grew about 44% to $11.3 million. Scherocman is expecting revenue to grow at a similar rate in 2021.

Interlink provides support and solutions for mid-sized companies around Microsoft-based technologies. Scherocman said part of the company’s growth is being able to help smaller businesses use the exact same tools as bigger companies. Interlink is active in Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Interlink will be expanding in Deerfield Township. As part of the tax credit agreement, Interlink is required to maintain operations at the project locations for at least nine years. According to a scope of work document from Ohio Development Services Agency, Ohio was competing with Tennessee for the project.

Part of the reason why Interlink has decided to refocus on Ohio is the caliber of students coming from the University of Cincinnati and Miami University. The interns from both schools and co-ops from UC have been very successful.

Interlink will create 16 jobs. The new jobs will create more than $1.3 million in new annual payroll, breaking down to an average of more than $83,000 per job. Most of the positions Interlink will be hiring for are customer-facing consulting jobs, experts in one area of technology such as Sharepoint.

Kimm Lauterbach, president and CEO of REDI Cincinnati, said Interlink is adding expert resources by doubling its team in Deerfield Township.

“With as many as 70% of all employees working from home, there is a crucial need for tools that help businesses to not only stay up and running, but improve productivity,” Lauterbach said.
