CourtAvenue, the digital marketing and transformation agency with a growing Cincinnati office, has announced its first acquisition since its formation earlier this year.
The tech-heavy firm, which wants to help organizations improve their end-to-end digital experiences and develop new products, bought San Diego-based social media agency Modifly in a deal announced this week. The purchase price was not disclosed, but the acquisition will allow CourtAvenue to offer a new line of digital engagement for its next generation of consumers, the company said.
Modifly, which is on track to do $1.75 million in revenue in 2020, was founded in 2017 by Elijah Schneider, then a 19-year-old Cal State student, in his college dorm room. The company has made a name for itself in the direct-to-consumer space with clients like Mercedes and Nordstrom, along with boutique brands Fancy.com, One Club for Creativity, Original Grain, Celsius Energy and Pigment, among others, with a focus on both organic and paid social media management, e-commerce, social influencers and strategy.
The D2C market is quickly becoming a major area of growth for CourtAvenue, officials said in a release.
“CourtAvenue’s acquisition of Modifly offers huge value for clients,” said Michael Stich, who joined as CourtAvenue’s CEO in Cincinnati in November. "We are thrilled to officially welcome Elijah and his team."
Schneider, a member of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 class of 2021, will stay on as CEO of Modifly. With the acquisition, CourtAvenue will grow by 20 employees, and the firm plans to add 10 more during the first half of next year, CourtAvenue spokeswoman Julia Mayer-Janovic told me.
CourtAvenue’s clients span technology, retail, automotive and health care, including Taylor Guitars, Epson, Barkley and KIA. Besides Cincinnati, the company maintains a physical presence in San Diego, Minneapolis and Austin.
Currently, the agency currently offers a suite of strategic consulting, rapid proof-of-concepting, platform integrations, marketing sciences and more.
