K12 Inc. has acquired Cleveland-based Tech Elevator, which operates one of its five coding bootcamp campuses in Cincinnati, according to a news release.

By Dec. 16, the combined entity will become Stride Inc., which also operates a subsidiary called Galvanize.

Tech Elevator also operates campuses in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. However, since the Covid-19 pandemic hit, the company started offering live, remote programming nationally.

“By combining forces with Galvanize, along with the support of Stride Inc., is the right move at the right time for Tech Elevator,” Anthony Hughes, co-founder and CEO of Tech Elevator, said in a prepared statement. “Together, we have the opportunity to amplify our impact in much bigger ways, supporting more students as they shift their careers into tech, more communities as they retool their workforce for the digital economy, and more companies as they reskill their employees for the jobs of the future.”
