After rebranding earlier this year and shaking up its C-suite, a Cincinnati IT firm dedicated to aiding customer engagement for retailers is expanding to Canada.

Flooid, previously known as PCMS Datafit, recently announced the creation of its Canadian subsidiary, Flooid Canada Holdings Inc. The expansion comes as officials work to tap into Canada's retail sector which generates $375 billion in sales, excluding cars and gasoline, according to a news release.

The Canadian expansion is the latest move designed to fuel growth for Flooid, whose North American headquarters are located in Blue Ash.

In July, the company completed its latest capital injection, bringing its total funds raised to over $129 million.

And shortly after, Flooid announced a series of leadership changes, including a new CEO of its North America teams.

Diane Palmquist has taken over Flooid's North American operations. She joined Flooid from Stibo Systems, a data management software company, and is in the process of relocating to Cincinnati. She replaced Andy Winans, who was with the company for six years, according to his LinkedIn.

In addition to leading North America, Palmquist also serves as Flooid's Group co-CEO with Martyn Osborne, who leads the firm's overseas operations. For that role, Palmquist and Osborne are dividing up the responsibilities previously held by Tony Houldsworth, who is now Flooid's group president.

Flooid provides retail software such as point of sale, customer service and customer loyalty offerings as well as a software that allows customers to purchase items online and pick them up in stores. The company's major clients include brands like Walgreens, Shoppers Drug Mark, Waitrose, Marks & Spencer and David Jones.

Its software is active in more than 150 retail brands in 60 countries and 300,000 points of sale worldwide. And its network of collaborators include Microsoft, Intel and HP. Flooid allows retailers the ability to have the "basket" of goods consumers are interested in follow them through the shopping journey.

Flooid employs 125 people at its Blue Ash office, with plans to add to its headcount by the end of the year, according to a spokeswoman.
