A venture capital firm that's been an active player in Cincinnati's startup community has added a new local principal.
Indianapolis-based Allos Ventures, which focuses on investing in Midwest-based companies, has named Paul Ehlinger principal, according to a release. Ehlinger, who is based in Cincinnati, joined Allos in December after serving as fund manager for the Kentucky Enterprise Fund.
As part of his role, Ehlinger is helping launch Sixty8 Capital, Allos' new effort to provide seed-stage funding for Black, women and LGBT founders. He will co-manage Sixty8 Capital with Kelli Jones, who joined Allos in August and is based in Indianapolis.
Ehlinger is also tasked with helping Allos find new investment opportunities, as well as working with the firm's existing portfolio companies.
"Paul has been a tremendous asset to our firm," David Kerr, Allos' managing partner, said in a statement. "He has demonstrated a deep understanding of the startup ecosystem across the Midwest and early stage technology investing, and has helped to increase the firm's deal flow and operational efficiency."
