Cincinnati is officially home to six Fortune 500 companies, one less than last year.

Here are a few notable companies from this year's list: Kroger, Cincinnati's largest public company, dropped three spots to No. 23. Its previous spot was taken by Verizon. Kroger's revenue went up by about 1% in 2019, but the company reported a profit change of -46.7%.

Procter & Gamble, the city's second-largest public company, also went down in the rankings, going from No. 45 to No. 50. After that is Fifth Third Bancorp, which rose 59 spots to No. 325. This was the largest jump made by a Cincinnati company in the Fortune 500 this year.

Macy's is notably missing from this year's list. The Cincinnati retail giant came in at No. 118 on the 2019 Fortune 500, and No. 120 the year before that. Like other big-box retailers, Macy's has struggled in recent years. In February, the company closed its headquarters in Cincinnati. Two years ago, it shuttered its flagship store at Fountain Place.

A total of 27 Ohio companies made the Fortune 500 list this year. Dublin-based Cardinal Health was the highest-ranking at No. 16, followed by Findlay-based Marathon Petroleum at No. 22.

Here are the six Cincinnati companies on the Fortune 500 list this year, with revenues listed in millions:

23: Kroger (down from 20; 2019 revenues of $122,286) 50: Procter & Gamble (down from 45; $67,684) 325: Fifth Third Bancorp (up from 384; $9,790) 383: American Financial Group (up from 427; $8,237) 401: Western & Southern Financial Group (up from 421; $7,920.5) 441: Cintas (up from 459; $6,892)
