HCDC, an area business entity, has a new director of its business center, Theresa Sedlack.
Formerly of the University of Notre Dame, where part of her 15-year tenure included forming the Innovation Park at Notre Dame incubator, Sedlack has nearly 20 years of experience working in creative, innovative spaces. She spent time teaching at Northern Kentucky University and Miami University, as well as a three-year stint on the board of the Angel Capital Association. Most recently, Sedlack served as mentor for those in the 2018 cohort of the Hillman Accelerator in Cincinnati.
"[Sedlack] is a proven leader, coach and connector who will be entrusted to better our nationally known business incubation program and assist in the creation, development and growth of our region's most innovative entrepreneurs," said Patrick Longo, who was formerly the Business Center director until his appointment as CEO and president of HCDC in December.
Sedlack expressed her excitement about the new role.
"Since my move to Cincinnati, I have admired HCDC and its dedication to providing broad-based commercialization support for its clients and deeply collaborative partnering across the region's vibrant startup ecosystem," she said in a press release. "It is an honor for me to join such a talented, committed staff."
Sedlack's first day at HCDC will be April 8.
