Techstars Kansas City has announced the names of those startups joining the accelerator's second cohort.
Making the international list? Cincinnati-based SoLo Funds, a "mobile lending exchange that connects lenders and borrowers to provide access to affordable loans of less than $1,000," the Kansas City Business Journal reports.
Techstars Kansas City Managing Director Lesa Mitchell said that SoLo was intrigued by the Kansas City accelerator because "Kansas City is the home of payday loans," the report states.
Techstars Kansas City is a three-month program that helps "technology-enabled startups with global potential" foster their companies via resources, capital and mentorships. At the conclusion of the program, the organizations will present their work at a Demo Day, which will occur for this cohort on Oct. 11.
"In the heartland of the U.S., Techstars Kansas City is building new global companies," its website states. "Home to one of the largest design + build, agriculture and animal health hubs in the world, Kansas City is fast becoming a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship."
The cohort of 10 will experience this growth for themselves when they begin the program, which kicked off today (We've listed the companies below).
